Training Opportunities

Greg Davis offers presentations and training on the history and art of making twist-style rope using hand-operated rope machines. The training session can be for one person or a small group, depending on the training subject and the experience level of the participants. Training offerings can be grouped along the following:
  • Presentations about rope making and its history are available in person or via ZOOM meeting.
  • Basic Training for Three and Four Strand Rope Making
  • Making Long Ropes
  • Specific Training for Generating Certain Ropes, Such As Needed for Cinch Making
  • Introduction to Motor Driven Rope Machines
  • Introduction to Six Strand Rope Making
  • Customer Specified Specific Training Requirement(s)
Mastering the ability to make three or four-strand rope is required before moving onto motorized rope machine operation or making six-strand rope.
Training is conducted at Greg Davis’s shop in the Kansas City, MO, metro area or at the customer’s location, depending on the specific course material, expected duration, and distance from Kansas City.
